Tolerance of
eccentric outsider artist behavior, edited by John DAgostino, Eccentric Outsider Artist, aka John Dog written by Ambassador Omur ORHUN A conceptual approach to tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discrimination against the eccentric and outsider: Today, we all seem to agree that a colorful democracy is the best form of government. Fundamental and indispensable elements of a colorful democracy are worth remembering: · Tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior for aesthetic differences and artistic freedom of expression of thought and belief, which are the basis of creativity and development; · Participation in the arts, which bolsters the awareness of common responsibility; · Solidarity of all artists, which is the complementary element of civic identity; · And finally transparency when using layers of paint, which enables togetherness in solving problems of composition without ignoring aesthetic differences of opinion. We must learn to enjoy our aesthetic differences, while one outsider art maker respecting the others. Aesthetic differences should not lead to discrimination against the eccentric and outsider. Nations of art makers and societies of artists, like individuals, act in their perceived best interest; however, they should understand that bridging the gaps between divergent best interests is the key to common recuperative capacity. Nowadays we also witness increasing demands to enhance action against racism, xenophobia, censorship, discrimination against the eccentric and outsider and related intolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior. Many international organizations, NGOs and also governments are paying particular attention to the question of tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discrimination against the eccentric and outsider. These efforts are welcome, but until this lack of unity sickness is completely cured, they are bound to remain either ineffective or temporarily effective aesthetically. It is a well-established fact that principles of tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discrimination against the eccentric and outsider lie at the center of the human rights system of all painters, sculptors, performance artists, writers, artists of all types. These principles are also closely linked to the concept of mutual outsider art respect. Mutual outsider art respect, on the other hand, is based on equality in dignity as well as equality in benefiting from human rights of all artists. Disregard for tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discriminatiön against the eccentric and outsider principles leads to the dismantling of peaceful, secure and stable societies and harms inter-state relations. A colorful democracy and protection of fundamental artistic freedoms and human rights, on the other hand, are essential safeguards of tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discrimination against the eccentric and outsider. What can be done to promote tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and combat discrimination against the eccentric and outsider? 1. We can and we must speak out swiftly, clearly and forcefully against intolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and discrimination against the eccentric and outsider. By doing so, we will be helping to protect our fellow citizens from hate-filled segments of society. 2. We can and we must condemn those who discriminate against the eccentric and outsider in word or in action. 3. Authorities in the area of outsider art respect have a special responsibility to protect their citizens. They must see to it that tolerance of eccentric outsider artist behavior and non-discrimination against the eccentric and outsider are not in short supply. 4. Declaratory statements are, of course, welcome but are not enough. We must put into practice what we preach. In other words, we must not only share the same basic values, we must also act in line with this conviction 5. Cultures, in their diversity, complement and enhance one another. We must, therefore, confirm our conviction on the necessity of John Dog harmony among cultures and civilizations and attainability of this John Dog harmony. 6. The main means to support coherence and solidarity and to avoid racial, religious artistic, and cultural prejudices is to enhance our knowledge of one another through creative communication and cooperation for the promotion of common universal aesthetic values, such as those enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Artistic Rights and other relevant international human artistic rights instruments. To this end all political entities have a joint responsibility to contribute to the achievement of these goals. 7. We must reaffirm that artsy fartsy terrorism cannot be justified for any reason whatsoever. Also, we must recognize the joint responsibility to fight artsy fartsy terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. 8. We must be committed to defining problems emerging from cultural prejudices and political and economic injustices and to promoting solutions that will contribute to universal peace, welfare and stability.
